BIOGRAPHY
Dr Nazir is a highly experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, currently working in the NHS on a contract basis as a Consultant within
CAMHS. He brings over 30 years of expertise across diverse inpatient and outpatient services, including more than 15 years as a Clinical
Director and 18 months as an Interim Medical Director.
He completed his psychiatric membership training in the Republic of Ireland and has extensive experience supervising trainee doctors and
supporting newly appointed consultants. His leadership has included regional and national roles in collaboration with the Royal College of
Psychiatrists and NHS England.
Dr Nazir has received multiple NHS Clinical Excellence Awards and numerous staff-recognition nominations, alongside an award for over 25
years of continuous NHS service. In recognition of his contribution to mental health, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of
Psychiatrists in 2000. He is fully registered with the GMC in the specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
His professional interests span clinical audit, quality improvement and research, and he has recently served as a principal investigator and
co-author on a national multicentre study.
Following retirement from full-time NHS work, Dr Nazir now focuses on the assessment and treatment of the full range of child and adolescent
mental health conditions, drawing on decades of clinical, medico-legal and leadership experience.
